Organized around a sunken lawn with a small fountain at its center, this garden uses a central axis to play a subtle game of symmetries. While the stone wall and the perennial beds they contain are symmetrical about the axis, a garden shed and screen house sit as anchors opposite the house.
On summer evenings, the screen house becomes a refuge across the soft green lawn and crunching gravel path. A short journey without traffic or planning ahead takes visitors to a private retreat. The finished garden became an set of outdoor rooms completing the house and connecting it to the landscape
